Curriculum

Overview

The School District of Jefferson is committed to the development of challenging and engaging standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Our seven-year curriculum cycle (see link below) has been carefully tailored to assure regular review and updating of K-12 course offerings. Systematic staff development activities provide staff with a variety of opportunities for dialogue with colleagues, K-12 curriculum alignment, curriculum writing, technology training and professional growth.

In general, our goal is to provide students with engaging learning opportunities which enhance knowledge, skill development, and problem-solving skills relevant to the world in which they will work and live.

SDOJ Curriculum Review Cycle

The School District of Jefferson Board of Education adopted the Curriculum Review Cycle in June of 2014.   When a curriculum area is reviewed a representative team of educators from all levels K-12 in collaboration with building principals and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction follow a process for review and research, implementation, and monitoring.
