Purpose and Goals
The academic needs of all JHS students are a primary concern. To further support the needs of every student, The Eagle Study will offer the opportunity for struggling learners to receive guidance from teachers in a supportive setting. This opportunity can be by invitation for students who have been identified by faculty as needing individualized support outside of the classroom with a core teacher, or students may sign up ahead of time on their own to receive extra support. Please note, this is not intended to be a study hall and all school rules apply.
Parents/Guardians may be notified by their child's teacher if they have been identified as a struggling learner, and the student will be invited to attend. Students will be encouraged to attend on the days appropriate to their needs. Each discipline has an assigned evening, as per the "Teacher Schedule" link.
The Eagle Study meets Monday through Thursday from 3:15-4:15. Please note, The Eagle Study will not meet on early dismissal days.
Providing an environment and resources where students have the opportunity to persevere and succeed.
It is Jefferson High School's intent to help at-risk students perform at grade level by the end of the semester, thus keeping students on track to graduate.
Teachers involved with The Eagle Study will:
1) answer questions as students complete their daily homework.
2) supervise and provide instructional guidance as work is being completed.
3) provide an environment free of distractions.
4) supplement prior lessons through tutoring.
