College, Career & Life Readiness

In the School District of Jefferson, we are committed to providing a wide variety of supports and services to help students aspire to and make progress toward the Vision of a College, Career, and Life Ready Graduate. This involves the development of a broad range of knowledge, skills and dispositions that will allow students to be informed consumers of their post-secondary education and training and also effectively navigate the worlds of higher education and employment at a time that is right for them. 

College, Career, and Life Readiness (CCLR) Vision

All students will graduate “College, Career, & Life Ready”

Which means they will:

  • Understand how their unique strengths and interests align to a wide variety of future opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain a personal plan for goal attainment that provides flexibility based on individual experiences.
  • Develop a general understanding of how the problem-solving process has been applied to innovate, invent, design, and build products and systems in a variety of environments/industries.
  • Effectively be able to navigate both the world of higher education and employment to support a transition to adulthood.
  • Possess confidence in their level of mastery of knowledge, skills, and dispositions in relation to their personal and career goals.

SDoJ Benchmarks for CCLR Success

Students demonstrate college and career readiness in a variety of ways. This blueprint can be used to track individual progress toward meeting the benchmarks valued in the School District of Jefferson. The indicators below are used to determine College, Career, and Life Ready Graduates.

Benchmarks For College, Career, And Life Ready Success

Students who meet all benchmarks within either College or Career Readiness have demonstrated college, career, and life readiness in the School District of Jefferson.

  • Met graduation requirements
    • Includes the completion of Academic & Career Planning (ACP) Course Work and identification of career cluster
  • Met at least one Life Indicator, in addition to meeting college and/or career readiness
    • College readiness is demonstrated by a student who has met the GPA of 2.8 or above criteria and at least one additional Academic Indicator.
    • Career readiness is demonstrated by a student who has identified a career interest via ACP coursework (graduation requirement) and met two of the Career Indicators.
    • 1 Life Indicator
