Each school bus rider has a responsibility to be safe while riding or waiting for their school bus.
Here are some rules for a safe trip.
- Be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled bus arrival time.
- While waiting for the bus, please stay back away from the curb or road.
- If it is necessary to cross the road in front of the bus, wait for the hand signal from the driver before you cross the street.
- Go directly to your assigned seat.
- Stay seated, no moving about while the bus is in motion.
- When windows are open, keep hands, arms and your head inside the bus.
- No using profanity, fighting, tripping and talking loudly on the bus.
- No harassment or bullying of other students.
- Vandalizing the bus will be paid for by the student that has done the damage.
- No taking photos inside of the bus using a cell phone or other hand held devices.
- No eating, drinking, or chewing gum on the bus.
- The driver's responsibility is to get the students to and from school safely.
- It is the student's responsibility to follow the bus rules and all instructions given by the driver.
- If a student is not riding the bus on any given day, please call Dousman Transport at (920) 674-5008 so that the driver knows they do not have to stop to pick up your student.
Every bus rider must follow these rules. Repeated violations or failure to follow these rules may result in denial of a student's bus riding privileges.
